Maryland Farms to Visit this Fall

Looking for a new excursion to take this autumn? The farms of Southern Maryland are the perfect fall destination for a family outing. From pumpkin patches to corn mazes and hayrides, a day at the farm can be fun for all. Here’s a list of the Southern Maryland farms that are sure to be a fun hit.

Middleton’s Cedar Hill Farm

Where: Waldorf, MD

Middleton’s Cedar Hill Farm boasts all of the scenic colors of fall with their pumpkin patch, amazing fall foliage, and a spectacular display of mums. There are two mazes to choose from, one of which is eight acres long and the other being more geared towards kids. Visit with the friendly farm animals or take a hayride to the pumpkin patch and choose a pumpkin to take home.

Serenity Farm, Inc.

Where: Benedict, MD

For an all-inclusive fall fun day, take a trip out to Serenity Farm. An old tobacco barn has been transformed into a themed area with children’s activities and the farm’s famous Kasper the Ghost. Kids will love Kasper’s castle and will receive a bag of treats from Kasper himself.  Other activities to fill your day include hayrides, face painting, a hay bale maze, a petting zoo, and a pumpkin patch.

Bowles Farm

Where: Clements, MD

If you’re a fan of corn mazes, don’t miss Bowles Farms which is home to Southern Maryland’s largest maze spanning fifteen acres. There’s lots of fun to be had in their children’s play area, the straw jumping pits, barrel rides, the straw maze, and the corn boxes. Take a ride on the Corn Maze Express and visit the barnyard animals before leaving to explore the pumpkin patch.

Queen Anne Farm

Where: Mitchellville, MD

Queen Anne Farm is the perfect spot to enjoy an afternoon on the farm. Pack a picnic and enjoy lunch surrounded by fall foliage, pumpkins, and mums. Be sure to bring your camera as this location is the perfect backdrop for fall photos. Enjoy a tractor pulled hayride to the pumpkin patch and let your kids explore the pumpkin house and children’s maze. Stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as some unique fall decor in their country store.

Montpelier Farms

Where: Upper Marlboro, MD

The Fall Festival at Montpelier Farms has an impressive list of attractions that’s certain to have something for everyone. The seven acre corn maze theme for 2019 is Angry Birds, or if you’re looking for something a little less challenging, make your way through the Spookley the Square Pumpkin Maze. There is more than just a pumpkin patch at Montpelier – enjoy paint a pumpkin, the pumpkin face trace game, or pumpkin bowling. Take a tour of the many farm animals or spend some time in the cub and kid corral for fun fall playtime activities.

Spider Hall Farm

Where: Prince Frederick, MD

Spider Hall farm is home to a nine acre corn maze, as well as some of the best ice cream in Maryland! Take a hayride to the pumpkin patch and visit the animals at the petting zoo.  Activities for the kids include the kids zone, bouncy houses, and Bunky the Clown. Vendors are on site with additional activities such as face painting and sand art.
